For Jonathan’s entire career, his passion has been education. He’s taught in public and private schools, traveled around the globe to assist in improving education standards in the developing world, served as a Lower School Principal from 2012 to 2020, and currently as a Middle School Principal.  He believes that education is a lever that God uses to raise leaders for His glory.

For the past ten years, Shawna has dug deep into Christ-centered holistic development work. Her several years working with Mission Lazarus in Honduras and Haiti, and more recently in the Nashville refugee community, has ignited a passion within her to support the whole person so they can reach their full God-given potential. She is also passionate about showing radical hospitality and bringing people and communities together for the sake of Kingdom-building.

Jonathan and Shawna lead UPN together and have four amazing kids- Silas (22), Eli (18), Cooper (19), and Zuri (15)- and two adorable pups- Tuck and Rudy. Nashville has been their home since 2001.
